我行冀州路，默想古帝都。

冀州道中鉴赏
冀州为古九州之一，地处中原，原本繁华。但经连年战乱和元蒙贵族的残暴统治，早已繁华尽去，满目疮痍、民不聊生，诗人游经此地，感慨今昔之比，不禁满怀激愤，遂成此诗。诗中先写诗人于道中所见所想，现实的凋敝与早先的昌盛形成了不堪的比照，诗人在感受着“寒风袭我襦”的外来痛苦时，心上也自然充满了感慨。与野老的相遇是诗中描写的重点，通过对野老热诚、“意仁”的描写，引出对野老身世的探询，再引出诗人对元统治者摧残、消灭汉文化传统的激愤和感伤，这种伤痛其实要远比在生活和物质上的伤痛来的更加强烈和深邃，于是，诗人对民生疾苦的关怀又进一步上升到了企盼民族复兴、文化再续的感奋，发出了的浩然长叹。
整首诗语言朴实，时近口语，直抒所见所感，不事雕琢，感情真挚而关怀深切。

元代诗人、文学家、书法家、画家王冕，字元章，号煮石山农，浙江诸暨人。出身农家。幼年丧父，在秦家放牛，每天利用放牛的时间画荷花，晚至寺院长明灯下读书，学识深邃，能诗，青团墨梅。隐居九里山，以卖画为生。画梅以胭脂作梅花骨体，或花密枝繁，别具风格，亦善写竹石。兼能刻印，用花乳石作印材，相传是他始创。著有《竹斋集》《墨梅图题诗》等。
